RV careens into home after blowout May 12, 2015, COLUMBIA COUNTY, Fla.—One person suffered minor injuries after a recreational vehicle crashed into a home in Lake City Monday evening. According to the Columbia County Fire Rescue's Facebook page, the RV was heading south on Interstate 75 when it swerved off the road, through a group of trees, a billboard and a wire fence and smashed into the home on Rolamite Glen. We may never know if this was preventable. As tragic as this was, this incident is a good reminder of how important it is to check the tires' cold air inflation pressure before traveling each day. Also, routinely perform a visual inspection at each stop along the route to the destination. If you don't have one, consider installing a Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS). |
